Psychosocial Support for Expats

Emotionally arriving in a new life

A new country. A new job. A whole new reality.

As an expat, you’re navigating a world full of change – and while things might look fine on the outside, a lot is happening on the inside. Living abroad brings not only practical challenges, but also emotional ones: confusion, loneliness, self-doubt, identity shifts, or the strange feeling of being “in between” lives.

If you’ve ever thought, “This should feel better than it does” – this space is for you.

I support people like you in finding their footing emotionally and mentally – not just adjusting, but truly arriving.

Support for Expats – for when you need more than just getting by

Whether you’ve just arrived, have been abroad for years, or are thinking about returning home – I meet you where you are, and walk with you from there.

  • Emotional stability in your new everyday life
Life abroad can feel like a rollercoaster – with unexpected highs, lows, and everything in between. I help you reconnect with your inner calm, find clarity, and regain a sense of groundedness in unfamiliar surroundings.

  • Coping with homesickness, isolation & overwhelm
If the experience feels too much, if you’re missing connection, or if you’re simply exhausted from holding it all together – you don’t have to go through this alone. Together we’ll explore what’s weighing on you and how to ease the load.

  • Identity & role questions
Maybe your job situation has changed, you’ve moved abroad as a partner, or your role in life feels unclear. I’ll support you in reconnecting with what matters to you, and in finding your own voice again.

  • Support for accompanying partners & families
If you’ve moved with a partner or children, your own needs may have taken a backseat. I also work with accompanying partners and family members who are looking for emotional grounding and a sense of belonging in a new life chapter.

  • Repatriation – returning home
Going back can be just as challenging as moving away. The so-called reverse culture shock is real – and often underestimated. I help you reflect, process, and reintegrate with clarity and self-compassion.

Why working with a psychosocial counselor can help

  • Because not all struggles are visible – but they still deserve care.

  • Because you don’t need to be at your limit to seek support.

  • Because sometimes, one honest conversation can change everything.

  • Because it helps to speak with someone who is neutral – and truly there for you.

How we’ll work together
